In October 2019, Chile experienced an unprecedented social uprising that raised progressive demands and questioned the neoliberal model. A constitutional process was subsequently opened, in which a new constitution was drafted that included elements that make it one of the most progressive constitutions in the world
Three years later, following the defeat in the 2022 referendum, where the draft was rejected, the far-right emerged as a leading actor in the new process, winning the majority of votes in the recent constitutional elections.
We cordially invite you on Tuesday, June 13th at 7:00 pm to the lecture 'From the social uprising to the current victory of the right-wing, 2019-2023', which will be given by media activist Felipe Valenzuela from Santiago, Chile. In this presentation, Felipe will share his experience and reflections as part of the movement that started in 2019, analyzing the events that led to the constitutional process and the current electoral victory of the right-wing. There will also be time for conversation and questions.
